IB celebrations

Royal High School Bath, GDST is celebrating the success of its International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) students, who were among 60,000 IB Diploma Programme students worldwide to receive their results yesterday.

This year’s cohort achieved a 100% pass rate and an outstanding average score of 40.1 points out of 45.

Over half the students achieved over 40 points, placing them in the top 1% of IB students globally.

Whilst some of these students are still considering their next steps with ongoing support from Royal High’s Higher Education and Careers team; all are celebrating, and we wish them the very best:

  • Melody has secured her place to study Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
  • Anastasia will be heading to Jesus College, Cambridge to study Psychological and Behavioural Sciences.
  • Izzy is set to study Physiotherapy at the University of Birmingham.
  • Eva will be taking a gap year in Senegal, embracing new experiences before continuing her academic journey.

Heidi-Jayne Boyes, Head of Royal High School Bath, said: “We are thrilled for these students who tackled the rigours of the IB Diploma Programme with typical Royal High grit and determination and were rewarded with a great set of results. They have not only worked on this academic success but these girls have also contributed to the success of the school through leadership roles and their involvement in so many co-curricular activities. It is down to their hard work and the support of our dedicated teaching staff that they have achieved success today and we are delighted to see them move onto the next phase of their lives confidently and with well-placed ambition.”

Students performed strongly across all subjects, with standout results in Languages and STEM subjects where students achieved the top grade of 7 points.

Mrs Mandy Ladbury-Webb, Head of Sixth Form, added: “I am delighted for this remarkable group of girls who have shown such extraordinary levels of resilience, spirit and energy while in the Sixth Form.”

Mrs Harriet Pagnamenta, IB Coordinator, commented that “this cohort have shown particularly strong bonds of friendship, supporting each other to excel in the demanding IB Diploma Programme”.

All Year 13 students now join over 70,000 Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) alumnae, a powerful network of women offering mentoring and career opportunities for life.

Royal High School Bath GDST wishes this year’s IB cohort every success and happiness as they move forward and looks forward to welcoming them back to inspire future generations students at the school.
