This week, students and staff gathered for a special assembly to celebrate the handover of leadership from our outgoing Sixth Form Leaders to the newly appointed team. The event highlighted both gratitude for the contributions of the departing leaders and excitement for the year ahead.

One of the most poignant moments came as outgoing Head Girl, Jemima, officially passed on the treasured Head Girl Box to her successor, Bea. The box, filled with mementos from former Head Girls, symbolises the continuity of student leadership and the shared legacy of those who have taken on the role.

Newly appointed Head Girl Bea expressed her enthusiasm as she steps into her position:
“I’m honoured to take on this role, and I look forward to the year ahead. With my wonderful team, I hope we can bring as many of our ideas - and yours - to life as possible.”

Head of Sixth Form, Mandy Ledbury, also shared her optimism about the year to come:
“I am really looking forward to working with our new Prefect Team. They all impressed us during their interviews, and our first meeting as a team was extremely positive. Each Prefect reflected on their personal values - beginning with a list inspired by Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead* - and together they created a word cloud to identify shared themes. From this exercise, they agreed on Kindness, Community, and Making a Difference as their core values.”*

Mrs Ledbury noted that the new team is already eager to begin, particularly in building relationships with younger students and ensuring their voices are heard. Their first initiative will be to visit tutor groups to introduce themselves and begin strengthening connections across the school.
