Students to Shine at Strength in Style Fashion Show
Sixth Form, Senior School, Outreach

Two talented Royal High School Bath, GDST textiles students, Ella and Flora, will take to the runway at this year’s Strength in Style fashion show, held at the iconic Bath Abbey on Wednesday 24 September. Both students are proud to serve as Young Ambassadors for Children’s Hospice South West, and have spent the summer working closely with the charity to help bring this inspiring event to life.
Flora, currently in Year 13, shared her excitement:
“It’s been wonderful to involve our school’s Textiles department in this show. Our students put so much care and creativity into their work, and it’s going to be really special to see their garments showcased in such a meaningful setting.”
Fellow student, Ella added:
“Being part of the Strength in Style Fashion Show has been a privilege. I’ve collaborated with stylists, marketing professionals and charity teams, and it’s opened my eyes to the many career paths within fashion. What stands out most is how community-driven this event is – it’s about more than style; it’s about connection and compassion.”
Following the success of last year’s show, organisers were keen to expand the opportunity to include Royal High students in 2025 – a collaboration that celebrates creativity, resilience and youth leadership.
Bath Abbey will be transformed into a stunning runway for Strength in Style, a unique charity fashion show that honours courage, individuality and the healing power of community. Models will include cancer patients, survivors, siblings of children with life-limiting conditions, healthcare professionals and students – each sharing their story through fashion.
The evening will feature three themed segments: Independent Retailers, Emerging Talent and Sustainable Style.
Organised in partnership with Children’s Hospice South West, Dorothy House, and We Get It, the event raises vital funds to support individuals and families affected by cancer and life-limiting illnesses.
This year’s show is proudly sponsored by Future Fashion Works (FFW), an innovative initiative based at Bath Spa University. FFW’s enterprise arm, Somer, recently opened its doors on Bartlett Street, offering a vibrant retail and creative space for fresh fashion ideas. By purchasing a ticket, supporters will help fund practical assistance, emotional support and wellbeing activities for those navigating life-changing health challenges.
