Ten Tors Challenge - they did it!
Sixth Form, Senior School, Student Success, Co-curricular & Trips
Huge congratulations to both our 35‑mile and 45‑mile teams for completing Ten Tors - we couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them
We’re very proud that we had a 45 Mile team for the first time – something which has been driven by the determination and enthusiasm of the girls. All the girls have been fantastic throughout their training over the past 3 months, enduring all sorts of weather, refining their navigation and camp craft skills as well as having to push themselves physically and mentally beyond what they thought possible.
The staff involved in the training (Mr Leather, Mr Graham, Mr Steele, Mrs Ladbury-Webb and Mr Hardcastle) have been incredibly impressed with everyone involved and the team selection for the 35 Mile team this year has been particularly challenging. We are especially indebted to Izzy, Chloe, Darcy and Imogen from the 2025 team who did a fantastic job of passing on their skills and wisdom to this year’s 35 Mile team.
35 Mile Team - Phoebe (Team Leader), Elizabeth (Deputy), Omi, Violet, Deia and Megan
45 Mile Team - Bea (Team Leader), Ruby (Deputy), Madeleine, Verity, Larissa and Martha.
Their resilience, determination and incredible team spirit shone throughout, with both teams cheering each other on and even joining forces to conquer one of the toughest hills together
It’s this camaraderie that makes our girls so proud to be GDST & Royal High girls
A special thank you to Mr Hardcastle, Miss Cornick and Mr Kim from our sister school Redmaids' High School for accompanying and supporting them every step of the way 🙌
