A Level Success for Royal High Bath, GDST Class of 2025

Sixth Form, Senior School, Alumnae

Exam Results 2025 AL

Today marks a proud milestone in the journeys of Royal High School Bath, GDST (RHB) A Level students who have received their long-awaited results and joined their IB Diploma peers and staff in celebrating their next steps beyond Sixth Form.

This year’s A Level results reflect the dedication, ambition, and academic excellence of our students, with 75% of them into their first choice of university as a result of over 90% of grades which were at A*–C and more than three-quarters of all grades at A*–B. These outstanding achievements have secured them places to study a breadth of courses, both in the UK and internationally – these range from Law, Modern Languages and Business Management, Environmental Science, Medicine and Medical Imaging through to History, Sociology and Criminology, Journalism, Psychology and Popular Music.

It has been a joy to celebrate with our students today. Their results reflect not only their academic talent but also their resilience, ambition, and the strength of our school community. I am deeply committed to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring every student is supported to reach their destination of choice, whether that’s a top university, a creative pathway, or an international adventure. Today is a celebration of their hard work and the bright futures ahead. I am proud of all our students and our committed staff for what they have achieved today.”
Heidi-Jayne Boyes, Head - Royal High Bath, GDST

Celebrating individuals

Among the many stories that were brought to life today, were those of students who have been part of the RHB community since Year 7; a testament to our purposeful, girl-centred educational philosophy that nurtures confidence, determination, and ambition:

  • Erin achieved A* in History, Latin, and Maths, and will be heading to Warwick to study Classics.
  • Dulcie Rose secured A*s in Geography and Psychology, and an A in Biology, and will study Biological Sciences, with study abroad at Exeter University.
  • Melanie will study Fine Art at Loughborough, having achieved A* in Fine Art, and A grades in English Literature and Psychology.

Many students go even further back and joined Royal High in the Prep School – we are so proud of all of their achievements which include:

  • Eva who is set to study Earth Sciences at UCL.
  • Evie, the youngest of three Royal High sisters is off to Nottingham to study Physiotherapy.
  • Amelie will be heading to Exeter to read English.

For other students, their achievements are remarkable for their sheer grit, determination and above all resilience - congratulations go to:

  • Aliya who joined us in Year 12 is off to Newcastle to study Law having secured the prestigious Johnston Memorial Scholarship. This award is made by the GDST, in memory of former Chair and lawyer, Lady Betty Johnston to a promising Law student and provides a financial contribution for three years at university.
  • Anna, joined Royal High at the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and the GDST has sponsored her education throughout – she is looking forward to studying Business and Management at Bath Spa University.

These results follow the exceptional achievements of our IB Diploma students, published in July, with an average score of 40.4 points, significantly above the global average of 31.

Contribution to the community

Beyond academic success, this cohort has made a lasting impact on our school community. These girls have led on sports pitches, stages, laboratories, concert halls, art studios and workshops. Ten students have completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, and many have shown outstanding leadership and mentoring skills, supporting younger students and contributing to the life of the school with compassion and confidence.

Head, Ms Heidi-Jayne Boyes shared the enthusiasm of these students at her first A Level Results Day at Royal High, since she joined the school in January:

“It has been a joy to celebrate with our students today.
