GDST Day of Dance
Senior School
On Monday 9th December, 8 of our Senior Dance Company members attended the GDST Day of Dance event at the world-renowned Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden, London.
The girls attended two workshops led by top professionals from across the dance industry. The workshop styles ranged from Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical Jazz, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop. After the workshops the girls took part in a Q&A session with the workshop professionals, gaining insight into the expectations choreographers lookout for and gaining advice about top tips for dance auditions.
In the afternoon the girls performed in the showcase with the other schools which included a range of dance styles, solos, duets, trios and groups.
Throughout the day the girls demonstrated great professionalism when engaging in the workshops. A special mention goes to Charlotte Tse, who was awarded the 'Performer of the workshop' for Hip Hop by John Graham.
Well done to all the girls who took part. I'm looking forward to the next GDST Day of Dance event in the Summer Term.
