Royal High School Bath Pool
We are delighted to announce that we now have approved planning permission for the development of our swimming pool, with work planned to commence within the new school year.Â
The pool development has been designed by Cowan Architects, whose work focuses on creativity alongside sustainability. Their design for the Royal High pool development will provide a modern indoor facility, to sit within our historic setting, which respects nature with sustainable design.
The design seeks to minimise energy use throughout building construction and beyond, implementing a superior thermal envelope and a new Air Source Heat Pump.Â
The design also seeks to minimise the impact on the ecology of the site, with integrated bat & bird boxes. Cowan has developed the materials and colour of the building to purposely blend in with it’s context, opting for a timber cladding that will ‘silver’ with age and a membrane colour to match.Â
The pool will be:
- 25m in length
- x4 lanes
- x2 changing rooms with showers
