They say that ‘seeing is believing’: what I witnessed at the Crane Academy in Kitale, Kenya last Sunday confirmed my belief in the power of girls’ education to change the world. The confident young women of the Crane spoke eloquently of their determination to succeed, their determination to overcome gender-stereotypes and of how highly they valued education and the support of their teachers.
Head Girl Hustings
Recently more than 30 of our Sixth Form students put themselves forward to join our new Prefect team, key leadership roles in our school. 11 of these students were shortlisted to stand in the Head Girl Hustings this week, to explain why they wanted to lead the student body and serve their school.
Year 7 Roman Morning
A highlight of the Spring term for our Year 7s is Roman Morning. Bringing the whole year group together for interactive workshops with visiting Romans (professional re-enactors), to bring history to life.
