Fundraising for Friends success
Paul Hudson, parent to Sophie in Year 6 and Charlotte in Year 2, has raised a fantastic £14,839 for the school after running two paid workshops on ‘Hacking with Swift: iOS Accelerator’. The livestream event walked attendees through advanced coding techniques on how to build a complete app using SwiftUI, Core Data, and Combine.
Paul set up the fundraising event after a JustGiving page for the Friends was set up in April. Paul said, “I originally started asking about JustGiving back in 2018, because I figured it would be a good way to raise money for the school. So, when the JustGiving page launched last month I jumped on it and decided to run a fundraiser. I announced the workshops on April 30th and had to close sign ups early.
Paul is a strong advocate for the Friends saying, “I was really happy to be able to help! The Friends do amazing work to provide a little bit more for the girls in both prep and senior schools, and I hope more parents are able to take advantage of the JustGiving approach to raise money.”
“The school’s new JustGiving page makes it easy for anyone to help raise funds for extras, and I’m just really happy to be able to play my part.”
A big thank you to Paul from everyone at Royal High School and the Friends for his support.
