Head Girl Hustings Celebrate Leadership and School Spirit
Sixth Form, Senior School
This year's Head Girl Hustings set the tone for a truly inspiring and rigorous process to find our next Head Girl. Seven remarkable Year 12 students stepped forward in Assembly this week to share their vision for the role. Each delivered thoughtful, passionate and deeply personal speeches to the whole school, giving their reasons for wanting to become Head Girl. Their presentations captured what leadership means at Royal High Bath: courage, collaboration, purpose and heart.
Next steps include interviews with the Head and Head of Sixth Form, as well as student and staff votes to guide the appointment of the new Head Girl and leadership team.
Across the morning, every candidate demonstrated confidence, integrity, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact. Their speeches reflected not only their ambitions for the role, but also their deep appreciation for the spirit that makes our school such a unique and inspiring place to learn.
As the votes are counted and the decision draws near, we are incredibly proud of all seven candidates for the courage, dedication, and enthusiasm they brought to the stage.
Alongside their inspiring speeches, each candidate shared a personal reflection on the legacy they hope to leave as Head Girl. Their words captured the heart of our school values — ambition, courage, community, and the belief that every student deserves to feel seen and supported.
Bea - “As Head Girl, I would like to leave a legacy of saying yes to every opportunity.”
Emilia - “I would like my legacy to be one of bringing the year groups closer — building bridges across the new middle school and senior school, making everyone feel empowered, that their voice matters, and that they feel supported, confident, connected, and proud to be part of Royal High.”
Esme - “The legacy I hope to leave is simple: that every girl at Royal High feels confident enough to speak, brave enough to try, and supported enough to grow.”
Harriet - “If I were to be elected Head Girl, the legacy I would hope to leave is one of confidence and unity. I want younger students to feel empowered to step forward, to lead, to speak up, and to believe that their contribution counts.”
Liv - “If chosen to be your Head Girl, I would leave a legacy of the Royal High Bath being one integrated community, from Year 5 to Year 13.”
Martha - “As Head Girl I’d like to leave a legacy of kindness, positivity and connection. I want students to feel they’ve been seen, heard and valued.”
Melisa - “The legacy I hope to leave is a school where ambition is normal, opportunity is real, and every student feels supported.”
A huge well done to our seven candidates — we are grateful for the energy and heart you have shown throughout the process. We look forward to announcing the new Head Girl soon and beginning an exciting new chapter of student leadership here at Royal High Bath.
