The Royal High School: Little Women - a Big Success!
The Royal High School’s production of Little Women was a truly unforgettable evening, celebrating the talent, dedication and creativity of our students. Performed on Friday 25 April, the show brought Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel to the stage in a moving and beautifully staged performance that captivated everyone in the audience.
We were thrilled to receive a glowing review from a representative of the National School Theatre Awards, who praised the show as a “moving and beautifully executed production” that “captured the tender coming-of-age story of the March sisters as they navigate love, loss, familial duty and ambition.”
The review highlighted the “emotional richness” of the performance and the “quiet strength” shown by the cast. Each actor was commended for their portrayal, with particular mention of the “striking authenticity” and depth in performances across the board—from Amy’s youthful energy to Jo’s bold independence, Meg’s quiet elegance and Beth’s gentle honesty. The production was described as “a powerful symbolic moment” and “a simple yet devastating image,” showing just how deeply it resonated with the audience.
We are incredibly grateful to have received a nomination from the National School Theatre Awards. This recognition is a testament to all the hard work, time and heart that our girls poured into this production, they truly deserve it.
It was a wonderful evening that brought our school community together to celebrate the arts, and we could not be prouder of everyone involved.
