Royal High School Bath Art & DT Shows Celebrate Student Creativity
Royal High School Bath was alive with colour, imagination and innovation as our annual Art and Design Technology Shows brought together outstanding work from students across Years 11–13. Families, staff and visitors were welcomed into two vibrant exhibitions that highlighted the imagination, technical skill and ambition of our young artists and designers.
The Art Show showcased an exceptional body of work from our GCSE, A‑level and IB Art and Photography students. Their pieces reflected a year rich with opportunity, collaboration and professional‑level practice.
This year has seen students exhibit beyond the school walls — from a group show at Burdall’s Yard in November to an Art Scholars exhibition at 44AD Gallery in February. A major milestone was the launch of our own Watch This Space gallery in the Graeme Preedy Art School, giving students of all ages the chance to curate and present their own exhibitions.
Head of Art Hannah Wilson said:
“I am so proud of the creative bravery that the girls have shown this year, especially through the personalisation of their work and development of ideas in so many different media. This exhibition really showcases the ambition and skill that the students have in abundance and I am so privileged to work alongside them every day.”
The Design Technology Show celebrated bold ideas, refined craftsmanship and the visionary thinking of our emerging designers. From experimental prototypes to market‑ready concepts, the exhibition reflected the depth and ambition of student work across GCSE, A‑level and IB courses.
The show also marked important transitions for students moving into the next stage of their creative journeys. Year 11 designers now step confidently into Sixth Form, while Year 13 students progress into exciting pathways including an apprenticeship with Jaguar Land Rover, Product Design with Languages, and Graphic Design.
Head of Design Technology Torie Gill said:
“This year’s exhibition demonstrates just how powerfully our students think as designers. Their work shows curiosity, resilience and a willingness to push ideas further than they first imagined. I am incredibly proud of the journeys they have taken and excited to see where their creativity leads them next.”
Images from the DT Show are not included below as they are embargoed for moderation by examiners until November – you will be able to see the students amazing work at this time.
