Students Complete Ten Tors & Gold DofE training expeditions in Dartmoor

Last weekend 22 members of Years 10 and 12 ventured to the wilds of Dartmoor to complete their first training expeditions for 35 Mile and 45 Mile Ten Tors Challenges as well as completing their Gold DofE practice expedition.

They braved all weathers – from rain, hail, freezing temperatures, wind and occasional sunshine and were well and truly inducted into the delights that Dartmoor has to offer! All students (and Mr Hardcastle) enjoyed a backpack camp high on the Moor and remote from all civilisation. We certainly put our kit to the test!

Many thanks to Mr Hardcastle, Mr Leather, Mr Graham, Mrs Ladbury-Webb and Mr and Mrs Steele for giving up their time to facilitate this opportunity and congratulations to all students who thrived on this challenge.
