Royal High Bath is proud to celebrate the achievements of its Year 11 students in this year’s GCSE examinations. Their results reflect a deep commitment to learning, personal growth, and the pursuit of excellence. Impressively, close to 70% of all grades awarded were between 9 and 7, laying a strong foundation for their Sixth Form studies.
Head, Mrs Heidi-Jayne Boyes, praised the students, saying: “We are incredibly proud of our Year 11s. Their results are a testament to their hard work, curiosity, and the supportive environment they have built together. These young people have demonstrated not only academic excellence but also a remarkable dedication to co-curricular life and personal development. I would also like to thank our dedicated teaching staff whose guidance and encouragement have helped our students flourish. We are excited to see what they will achieve next as they move into Sixth Form.”
The breadth of achievements across the year group is matched by their contributions to life beyond the classroom. Among the many success stories are:
Liv has had a remarkable year, combining academic excellence with outstanding achievements in elite sport. She earned the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship and secured a place in the British Rowing Olympic Performance Development Squad. In Sixth Form, Liv will study Maths, Physics, Design Technology and Further Maths.
Melisa originally joined Royal High from Turkey as a short-stay boarding student but chose to remain and complete her GCSEs—achieving straight 9s across the board. Her academic excellence and passion for science have led her to continue into Sixth Form, where she will study Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology.
Hattie, the youngest of two sisters and daughter of a Royal High alumna, Hattie achieved an impressive average grade of 8.3. She will join the Sixth Form to study Biology, Economics, and History. A talented athlete, Hattie represents the school in both first team hockey and netball, and continues to inspire through her commitment and enthusiasm.
Bea is a boarder who says ‘yes’ to everything. Known as ‘Busy Bea’, she captained the Ten Tors team, is a regular first team hockey player and an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, playing the organ, piano and clarinet. Her dedication and hard work are reflected in her average grade of 8.3. She will be joining the Sixth Form’s IB Diploma Programme.
Wynette is an international boarding student and art scholar and demonstrated real breadth in her GCSE subjects, achieving an average grade of 7.5. She will move into Sixth Form and continue to develop her passions for STEM and Art.
Ruby is a very talented dancer and drama student and her infectiously positive attitude to life made her a strong member of the Ten Tors Team. We are looking forward to seeing her fly in our Sixth Form where she will study Spanish, Geography and DT.
These students are part of a vibrant and diverse cohort whose talents extend far beyond academics who continue to contribute to a rich co-curricular life that includes music, sport, drama, leadership and outdoor pursuits including the Ten Tors Challenge and Duke of Edinburgh Award. We cannot wait to see how high they fly as they enter our future focused Sixth Form in September.
