Author and illustrator Robert Starling visits Prep

We were all excited to welcome author and illustrator Robert Starling to the Prep School on Tuesday, as part of our Book Week celebrations. Robert is best known for his fun and engaging picture books, such the Fergal series. He worked with each class to help the girls bring new characters to life and shared some great tips on how to write stories. It was also fascinating to hear him talk about the childhood books that inspired him to become an author/illustrator.

Head's Blog: The Crane Academy, Kenya

They say that ‘seeing is believing’: what I witnessed at the Crane Academy in Kitale, Kenya last Sunday confirmed my belief in the power of girls’ education to change the world. The confident young women of the Crane spoke eloquently of their determination to succeed, their determination to overcome gender-stereotypes and of how highly they valued education and the support of their teachers.
