GS Blackburn and Friends Education Awards open for Sixth Formers

Sixth Form

On Wednesday, during their weekly assembly, we were delighted to present the Sixth Form with the opportunity to apply for two financial awards; the Friends of Royal High School Bath Education Award and the GS Blackburn Travel Award. All girls in Years 12 and 13 are urged to take advantage of these wonderful opportunities to secure funding for their chosen extra-curricular project, activity or trip.

The Friends Education awards of up to £1000 are available with the criteria that the project or activity is related to current studies, or future career aspirations.

The GS Blackburn Travel Award is named after a former Headmistress of Bath High, one of our founding schools, Gwendoline Blackburn, who was, in her day, the youngest Head ever appointed by the GDST. Miss Blackburn also absolutely loved to travel and set up a fund to enable girls at the school to be awarded a monetary prize to help with travel plans related to their education, or a trip which involves experiences and activities which will broaden their horizons.

The deadline for applications to both awards is Friday 1 March 2024. Students in Year 12 and 13 can find further information, including how to apply, on the Sixth Form’s page on the RHSB Hub.
