Learning French through theatre

Languages

Year 6 students from the Prep School and Year 7 and 8 students from the Senior School were invited to attend a French play organised by Mr Roca.

Onatti, a theatre company specialising in foreign language plays for children, performed the play in front of the three year groups.

French play review by Sennen Dobson and Izzy Mason (Year 7 students)

On Monday 14 February, Years 6, 7 and 8 watched ‘World’s gone French.’

The play was performed by two actors and told the story of a young boy who gets gifted a magical puzzle with missing pieces. After receiving the gift, everyone mysteriously starts speaking fluent French. To fix this, with the help of the audience, he has to retrieve the missing pieces.

It is educational, fun and hilarious, it involves audience participation, and it is a fantastic way to learn French phrases.
