Arctic Adventures

Nursery and Prep School

Among the spring blossoms in the Cranwell grounds you might notice the beginnings of some Arctic homes! Year One have been learning about different types of homes that people occupy in the Arctic. They have discussed which materials are used to build homes and why, and what you might find inside the different homes. We are now working on building our version of an igloo and a tent, just as the Inuits and the Sami would do. With the help of Mr Woods, we also baked our own ‘Bannock bread’ over a fire outside our shelter. It was delicious!
